Autumn- The Season Of Harvest | 22 March 2026

Pastor David Sandhu reflects on the seasons of life, focusing particularly on what he calls the autumn season. He explains that these seasons aren’t tied to age or fixed stages, rather, they can shift quickly, even from one day to the next. Life can feel like summer one moment and winter the next, so the key is learning how to recognise and respond to each season well.

Using the example of King David, Pastor David highlights how autumn can be a season of maturity. David, having experienced highs and lows, wants to build a temple for God, but God says no. Instead of reacting with frustration, David accepts this and trusts God’s plan. This becomes a key lesson, autumn is often where we learn to handle disappointment and trust God even when things don’t go the way we hoped. He calls these moments “holy no’s”, times when God redirects us for a bigger purpose.

David doesn’t get to build the temple himself, but instead prepares everything for his son Solomon. He gathers resources, people, and vision, then encourages Solomon to step forward with courage. This becomes a key lesson: sometimes the most important thing we can do isn’t to build something ourselves, but to empower others to carry it forward.

He then points to Jesus as the ultimate example. While David prepared a physical temple, Jesus builds something greater, a community of people. Through his sacrifice and resurrection, Jesus brings the true harvest: hope, restoration, and new life.

Pastor David encourages us to reflect on the fruit in our lives, consider what we’ve been given, and think about who we can invest in. Because in the end, autumn is about building something that lasts beyond us and trusting that nothing done in faith is ever wasted.
