Stand Strong| 27 October 2024

Pastor Chas’s message centres on the importance of strong, unwavering faith in God amidst today’s challenging world. He emphasises that we are not alone in our spiritual journey, reminding us of Jesus’s promise never to leave or forsake us. Chas encourages standing firm in biblical teachings and highlights how faith must be consistent and warns against being “tossed around” by changing doctrines.

Drawing on the story of David and Goliath, Chas illustrates how God equips each person with unique “armour” suited for them. David succeeded by trusting God and using his sling, showing that God empowers us through our specific gifts. He emphasises four key points: rely on your God-given strengths, embrace your uniqueness, have unwavering faith, and resist trying to imitate others. Chas also shares insights on overcoming spiritual obstacles, highlighting forgiveness, humility, purity, and unwavering faith. He likens unforgiveness to a “bind weed” that holds us back, emphasizing the importance of letting go, as Jesus taught.

He also discusses the need for spiritual vision to recognise God’s unseen work in our lives. He shares from Elisha, whose servant’s eyes were opened to see God’s army surrounding them, demonstrating that even in the worst situations, God provides divine protection. By putting on “the armour of God” daily—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and God’s word, we can stand firm against spiritual battles and life’s challenges.  He encourages us to reflect, rely on scripture, and draw strength from Jesus’ love, which overcomes all obstacles. In closing, he reassures us that we can achieve victory in life’s battles by faith and by relying on God’s unwavering support.
