The Grace Of God | 30 June 2024

On a beautiful Sunday morning, Lighthouse Church gathered for a spirit-filled service that centred on the theme of God’s grace. The congregation was warmly welcomed and invited to greet one another, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

The service began with a powerful passage from the Bible, reminding us of Jesus’ parable of the lost sheep. This resonated deeply as we reflected on God’s relentless pursuit of us, His lost sheep, and the joy in heaven when one sinner repents.

Worship was led with heartfelt enthusiasm, featuring songs like “For God So Loved” and “A Thousand Hallelujahs,” which lifted the congregation’s spirits and shifted focus from personal struggles to the greatness of God. The worship team truly ushered in the presence of God, creating an atmosphere of praise and adoration.

A special moment of the service was the dedication of baby Olivia Lovett. Pastor Dave highlighted the church’s commitment to supporting families and prayed for Olivia’s protection and guidance. This touching ceremony emphasised the importance of raising children in the faith and the collective responsibility of the church community.

Pastor Steven Page delivered a compelling sermon on the grace of God, drawing from 1 Corinthians 15:9-11. He shared poignant stories, including the transformative journey of John Newton, author of “Amazing Grace,” and underscored that we are all sinners saved by grace. Pastor Page reminded us that despite living in a dangerous and uncertain world, God’s promises remain steadfast and His grace is sufficient for all our needs.

The service concluded with a time of communion, reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice and the redemption it brings. This sacred moment reinforced the sermon’s message and allowed the congregation to connect deeply with their faith.

As the service came to a close, announcements were made about upcoming events, including the church’s prayer meeting and the garden party on the 7th of July. The congregation left with hearts full of gratitude, reminded that we are what we are by the grace of God.
