Time To Raise Your Faith | 16 June 2024

This past Sunday at Lighthouse Church was a truly uplifting experience, as our congregation gathered to deepen their faith and celebrate the love of God. Pastor Josh delivered an inspiring sermon on the theme “Time to Raise Your Faith,” encouraging us to strengthen our trust in God amidst life’s storms.

The service commenced with an energetic call to worship, inviting everyone to join the 18-30s group in spirited praise. The atmosphere was electric as we sang songs of praise and joy, reinforcing the message that worship is a powerful expression of our faith, no matter our circumstances.

Pastor Josh’s sermon, based on Matthew 14:22-33, highlighted five key lessons from Peter’s experience of walking on water. He emphasised that faith shapes our perception of life’s challenges, rests in its object—Jesus Christ—and requires us to step out of our comfort zones. Faith, he reminded us, activates the supernatural and remains steadfast even when we falter. His message resonated deeply, reminding us that our success in faith is not dependent on our performance but on Christ’s unwavering faithfulness.

We also celebrated Father’s Day, honouring all fathers and father figures in our congregation. A heartfelt prayer was offered, asking for God’s blessings upon them. The service included a special moment of communion, reflecting on the sacrificial love of Jesus and our response to His invitation to share in His life.

Our worship was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of our youth, who led various aspects of the service, from music to technical support. Their dedication and talent were evident, and it was heartening to see the next generation actively involved in church life.

Looking ahead, we are excited for upcoming events, including a garden party on 7th July to support Caris House and Lighthouse Church, and a prayer evening this Wednesday to intercede for our new building project. We also have a baptismal service next Sunday, celebrating those taking the step of faith through baptism.

As we left the service, our spirits were lifted, our faith strengthened, and our hearts ready to face the week ahead with renewed trust in God’s promises. Join us next week as we continue to grow in faith and community at Lighthouse Church.
