This Sunday at Lighthouse Church, we gathered for a powerful service filled with worship, prayer, and an inspiring message from our senior pastor, David S. The theme was centred around the life of Elijah and the promise of God’s rain, symbolising blessings and revival after seasons of drought and hardship.
The service began with a vibrant worship session led by our talented musicians. The congregation sang praises and lifted their hearts, creating an atmosphere charged with expectancy and faith. Songs like “Joy in the Morning” and “Raise a Hallelujah” resonated deeply, reminding us of God’s unchanging love and faithfulness.
Pastor David’s sermon was a profound exploration of 1 Kings 18:41-46, where Elijah prophesied rain after a prolonged drought. He emphasized the necessity of removing idolatry and sin from our lives to receive God’s blessings. Pastor David reminded us that like Elijah, we need to position ourselves in prayer, persevere through challenges, and have faith in God’s promises, even when we cannot see immediate results.
Throughout his message, Pastor David highlighted four key actions: hearing God’s word, adopting a posture of readiness and prayer, persistence, and maintaining faith. He encouraged us not to quit in our spiritual journey, assuring us that God’s promises are certain and His blessings are on the horizon.
The service also included a moment of communal prayer for our newly elected government leaders, asking for wisdom and guidance for them to lead our nation righteously.
As the service concluded, the congregation was invited to join a garden party to support the youth camp fundraiser. Despite concerns about the weather, faith was declared over the event, and everyone looked forward to a time of fellowship and fun.
This service was a refreshing reminder that God’s rain is coming. Let us continue to pray, believe, and prepare our hearts for the revival and blessings He has in store for us.
