It’s Not Fair | 23 June 2024

This past Sunday at The Lighthouse Church, we gathered for a truly special service. As the morning began, the air was filled with joyous anticipation, and the sanctuary buzzed with excitement. Pastor David Sandu led us through a remarkable time of worship, celebration, and reflection.

We had the privilege of baptising six individuals, each making a public declaration of their faith in Jesus Christ. It was a profound moment as Pastor David and Pastor Jaz guided each person through the baptismal vows. Friends and family gathered around the baptismal tank, capturing the joyous occasion through photos and applause. The testimonies shared highlighted the transformative power of faith and the new beginnings these individuals now embrace.

The worship team led us in heartfelt songs of praise, with favourites like “Christ Alone, Cornerstone” and “Amazing Grace” resonating deeply within us. The atmosphere was electric as voices lifted in unison, proclaiming God’s glory and love.

Pastor David’s sermon, centred on the parable of the workers in the vineyard from Matthew 20, reminded us of the radical nature of God’s grace. He emphasised that God’s grace is generous and undeserved, a concept that challenges our human notions of fairness. The message called us to avoid the pitfalls of comparison and to embrace humility, gratitude, and remembrance of God’s abundant generosity.

As we celebrated the baptisms and reflected on the sermon, we were reminded that God’s grace knows no bounds. It is available to all, regardless of background or past mistakes. This service was a powerful reminder of the love and mercy that God extends to each of us.

We left the service with hearts full of joy and gratitude, ready to embrace the week ahead, empowered by the knowledge of God’s amazing grace. Thank you to everyone who joined us, both in person and online, and a special congratulations to those who were baptised. We look forward to continuing this journey of faith together.
